Better Heart Foundation USA was founded to close a critical gap: children with treatable congenital heart disease in resource-limited settings who lack access to pediatric cardiac surgery. What starts as a routine diagnosis in the U.S. can be a death sentence elsewhere — not because the medicine doesn't exist, but because the surgeons, equipment, and infrastructure don't reach these communities.

Our work began with a medical mission to Lagos, Nigeria, where our founder saw firsthand both the scale of unmet need and what's possible when clinical expertise meets local partnership. That experience became the foundation for BHF USA's model: partnering with in-country physicians and hospitals to deliver surgical missions, build sustainable care pathways, and train local teams for long-term impact.
